Kayla Jischke:
My name is Kayla, and I was part of the team of students who researched the Octagon House. Before this project, I had no idea that the Octagon House existed. It was quite the shock to find out I had been driving over it on the overpass for years. This project made me realize how historical buildings are being forgotten about. I now understand the importance of keeping the community involved in the maintenance and activities occurring in local historical buildings. Personally, I was in charge of researching the architecture, and I found it amazing how much of the original architecture remains today. I hope that the community will keep the Octagon House in good condition for generations to come.

Rachel Rohe:
My name is Rachel, and I am a part of the team of students that researched the Octagon House and created this website. The project was really an eye-opener for me because it was just so difficult to find information on some of these people and events. It has really made me appreciate the ease with which we can find information these days, what with the Internet and all its resources. For this project our team had to wade through many primary sources of information including newspapers, old books, architectural reports, etc. I hope you all enjoy learning more about this interesting building, and I hope it helps you connect with the history of Neenah.

Olivia Will:
My name is Olivia, and I am also part of the team that discovered the history of the Octagon House. It was so much fun! The project allowed me to meet and talk with several new and incredibly amazing people. We spent a lot of time in the Octagon House, and learning about every single piece of its background was incredible. Along with our fellow students at Neenah High School who were in AP United States History, we researched many historic buildings in Neenah, and I now feel more connected to my city. This was a great project to participate in, and I enjoyed it. All of the pictures that you see on this webpage, including the background, were taken by me. My friends Kayla and Rachel and I are so happy that you are taking it upon yourself to read through this website and learn more about the Octagon House!
